Bartek Miler - percussion - (Academy of Music in Poznań)
Born in 1992 in Paris. Percussionist – soloist, chamber musician, multi-instrumentalist, arranger, producer, composer and teacher. He conducts workshops and masterclasses at music academies and music schools in Poland.
Bartek Miler has been appreciated as a percussionist at competitions and auditions on a national and global scale as an outstanding soloist and chamber musician. He is a laureate of many national and international music competitions, such as the "Italy Percussion Competition" in Montesilvano, Italy, the National Percussion Competition of Jerzy Zgodziński in Poznań, Poland, "Rising-Stars Grand Prix International Music Competition Berlin", "OPUS International Music Competition" in Kraków, "International Muse Competition" in Athens, "Paris Music Competition".
Bartek Miler was a participant qualified for one of the most prestigious solo competitions in the world – the "ARD International Music Competition" in Munich.
In November 2016, Bartłomiej Miler won the "Annelie" award at the largest percussion competition – "TROMP International Percussion Competition Eindhoven". He was awarded by the external committee for the best musical personality of the competition in 2016.
He is also a laureate of numerous scholarship programs such as the "Young Poland" Scholarship of the Minister of Culture, "Kultura w Sieci", "Kultura na Wynos", scholarships of the President of the City of Poznań or ADAMI (in France).
He gave concerts as a soloist in such halls as the Schola Cantorum in Paris, in the NOSPR Chamber Hall, in the Zamek Culture Center in Poznań at the "Poznań Music Spring" festival. As a soloist, together with Kacper Smoliński, he performed the premiere of the Double Concerto for Chromatic Harmonica, Marimbe and String Orchestra at the Poznań Philharmonic for Polish Radio Two.
Bartek Miler has been awarded many times for promoting the art of percussion in the country and for his composing activity, including for producing the international project during the "If Only I..." pandemic in June 2020.
He constantly cooperates as a percussionist with the duo of outstanding soloists – Łukasz Kuropaczewski & Maciej Frąckiewicz, with Marek Napiórkowski and is a part of Kacper Smoliński's jazz band, for which he recorded all percussion parts on his album.
Bartek Miler completed his master's studies at the National Conservatory of Music in Lyon, France, in the percussion class of the outstanding international soloist and teacher Jean Geoffroy.
In September 2021, he obtained the title of Doctor of Arts (percussion).
In the same year he became a finalist of the Masterclass program of the Norblin Foundation and a laureate and participant of Songwriting Camp Zaiks for his compositional output.
Currently, he teaches classical percussion at the Academy of Music in Poznań.
